HTHC Hamburg Debrief

Is it running?
Excellent. Than I can talk now.
It was certainly a tournament to remember: smashing weather, 4 days/nights of non-stop partying and the easiest Boatrace victory of the century against a team that calls themselves Hectolitres. And let us not forget that we secured the awards for the Best Dancer of the Tournament (Rory) and prestigious Most Drunken Player of The Tournament Award (Rory again). The award ceremony is documenten with the pictures attached.
There were also some more emotional moments, such as the 1-2 loss against HTHC in what will be the Last Griffs Match of Dr Gepetto for the time being. During the next saison he will be with us in spirit, whilst laying on some sandy South-Americal beach sipping caipirinhas. Gepetto, I am sure we will find some time for goodbye before you hit the road. Or what about Frodos goodbye to his devoted german Groupie on Sunday. Frodo, if you want I will organize her an Easyjet flight to London as suprise at the upcoming New Members Party (jumping out of a Birthday cake would do). And last but not least the announcement that Nathalie and I will be expanding the future potential successors of the Griffs with another little one. (S)He is due only Feb, so until than Nathalie can drive me home from the New Member’s Party, The X-Mas-Party and other regular Griffs Booze Festivals. How convenient.
It is also my pleasure to announce that we received various invitations and promises, of which I took the freedom the reject one straight away: that was from the team with that yellow license plate thing. Wind me up before you go-go. I am sure you are with me on that one. But for the rest please make a note in your diary:
October 08: the organizing team of Hamburg’s HTHC captained by Bonie-Bonie is visiting London this fall to celebrate their saison ending with a friendly against the Griffs and some traditional British pub crawling. I will organize on our side and count on you to helping me providing them with the same hospitality as they gave us.
May 09 - second May Bank Holiday Weekend - tournament in Cologne. I have been there and done it. Awesome. You guys will just love it. The cologne guys definately want to contract us, so I will get that sorted as well.
So as Vice-President Travel and Tourism, I am already busy to get next year’s Griffs touring catalogue filled. As a famous German Head Coach once said: Nach dem Spiel ist Vor dem Spiel - After The Match is Before The Next One.
Gents, as final administrative remark pls note my new email address: jeroen@mobilehome.nl (ed). Do not worry, you have not ruined my carreer at FEDEX (ED) yet, but my dear new PA could not stand the basic quality of our electronic conversations (she is a devoted member of the Bracknell Christian Community). I regularly had to give her a Cognac treatment after your stuff was spamming my email box. So do me a favour and send your stuff in future to my new adress. Cheers. Whilst I typed every fu***** email adress into my new system, I noted that i struggled to attach faces to each email adress. I just realized that I am regularly sharing an intimate insight in my private family life with a to me unknown readers base. That feels like being Jordan, but without the Big Tits… I probably need a cosy evening in the pub digging through some old Griffs photographic material to get myself more into it. That will also improve my skills at the next Xmas celebrations when I have to remind absent Griffs. At the moment only Waterboy seems a safe bet for me. But what happens if he suddenly turns up again?
Anyway, Have a Great Remaining Summer. See some of you at the Thursday Night Summer Sissies Hockey tomorrow.
Es war mir mal wieder eine wahre Freude,
Pfui Gott mit einan’
